FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

FAQs

At New Life Mediation, we believe that resolving family matters doesn't have to be overwhelming, expensive, or conflicting. Our goal is to guide couples and families through difficult transitions with compassion and efficiency. Whether you are navigating divorce, custody, support, paternity, or co-parenting agreements, we offer a neutral, structured process that helps everyone stay focused on solutions - not conflict. Below are some common questions to help you better understand how mediation works and what to expect.

  • What does New Life Mediation help with?

We help families work through things peacefully. Whether you're looking for an uncontested divorce, need to set up a custody or parenting plan, or you're working out child support or property division, we're here to guide the process. We also handle all the paperwork and filing so everything is done correctly from start to finish.

  • Do we have to go to court?

Usually, no. Most of our clients never step foot in a courtroom. Once we help you reach an agreement, we prepare the documents and file everything. If a simpel hearing is needed, we'll make sure you know exactly what to expect.

  • How long does the process take?

Most families finish mediation in 1-3 sessions, depending on how complex things are. Since we complete and file the paperwork for you, the whole process is typically much faster than going the tradition attorney route.

  • Is our agreement legally binding?

Yes. Once both of you agree and sign, we prepare a settlement that gets filed with the court. After the judge approves it, your agreement becomes an official, enforceable court order.

  • Why choose mediation instead of attorneys fighting it out?

Mediation is usually more affordable, quicker, and less stressful. It focuses on solutions rather than conflict. This is especially helpful when children are involved - it helps maintain communication and keeps things respectful.
